Utopia Project CIC is based on the Wirral and we depend upon external funding in order to provide opportunities for a range of different groups within our community. We therefore welcome any kind of support or networking opportunities. If you would like to support us, volunteer or just know more about our organisation please check out our previous projects or contact us.

Working in Partnership with:

ESF and WEA Funding

Thanks to funding from the European Social Fund Utopia have been able to deliver free 6 week training and personal development programmes to adults with low level mental health difficulties. The programme merged classroom based employability sessions with well being activities designed to boost confidence, self esteem and motivation. Participants were also able to access a City and Guilds Employability qualification and support in searching for future employment. Managing Director Phil Murray stated, ‘The funding we received from ESF for the ‘Skills for Life’ programme has been invaluable in providing tailored support for people looking to re-enter the world of work. The project has been a good opportunity for participants to develop existing skills, focus on planning for the future and break down the initial barriers to engaging in employment.’

Santander Funding for Positive Engagement Programme

Utopia received a grant from Santander to run a fantastic school holiday programme for young carers across the Wirral. Working alongside Barnardo’s Action With Young Carers the project gave young people the opportunity to try a range of new and exciting activities such as kayaking, ice skating, trampolining and rock climbing. Managing Director Phil Murray was delighted with the engagement throughout the programme, ‘the funding provided by Santander allowed us to provide such a positive experience for all of the young people who took part. It gave people the chance to take part in new and exciting activities, forge friendships that they wouldn’t ordinarily have made and provide respite from their caring responsibilities. Working alongside Barnardo’s Action With Young Carers has also been fantastic in providing the right support for the young people. This is a project that we would love to do again as it was so beneficial for everyone involved

“I want to get back into work and life in general. Because my confidence has improved, it has helped me realise the good skills and qualities I have and reinforce my self worth.”
